Not talking about digital marketing today.
I’m noticing more and more businesses are using automated phone menus to handle incoming calls during normal hours. If you think this is a good marketing tool, I can tell you with certainty that it is not.
Now obviously, some types of businesses have an automated menu out of necessity due to staffing or other logistical challenges. I’m not talking about those.
Too many people are unnecessarily being greeted by a robot when they should be talking to a human.
It’s understandable that someone may not be able to answer every call that comes through on your main line. But that’s what call forwarding is for. Or even good old voicemail!
After normal business hours, it makes total sense to have an automated menu. But it shouldn’t be the default option for people trying to do business with you while you’re open.
And it shouldn’t be used to promote general info that can be found on the home page of your website.
Speaking of websites, let me help grow your business with a powerful digital marketing plan.
